LA-based comic Kris Rubio uses his musical and non-musical comedy style to cast an ever-expanding net amongst the stand up community, featuring for such Comedy Central notables as Thai Rivera, Joey Medina, and Edwin San Juan.
“Kris Rubio is one of my favorite comics to watch and work with,” says Rivera, who has had Rubio open for him many times in venues up and down the California coast and as far as Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. “His unique and hilarious style of comedy always gets the audience in the right mood. Rubio is one comic that is guaranteed to deliver.”
With many of Rubio’s comedic bits involving an audio looping device and songs on topics ranging from relationship issues, struggles at the day job, growing up Filipino and the irreverent hip hop stylings of Darth Vader, many have compared him to such comics as Reggie Watts, Pablo Francisco and Flight of the Concords.
Rubio is currently expanding his college circuit appeal and East Coast touring capacities.
His first musical comedy album and 1 hour DVD special are both set to debut soon.
No Nap Time, the comedic web series created with Chad Goldich will air later this year.
